5x114.3: The Bolt Pattern That Rules the JDM World

If you drive a Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Acura, Lexus, Infiniti, or Mazda, there's a good chance your car runs 5x114.3. It's the most popular bolt pattern in the JDM world — and for good reason. It means the widest selection of aftermarket wheels, the most compatibility, and the easiest time finding a fitment that works.
What Does 5x114.3 Mean?
The first number — 5 — is how many lug bolts your car has. The second number — 114.3mm — is the diameter of the circle those bolts sit on. Put a ruler across the center of your wheel and draw a circle through all five lug holes: that circle is 114.3mm across.
You'll also see it written as 5x4.5 in imperial (114.3mm = 4.5 inches). Same thing, different unit.

Why Does Bolt Pattern Matter?
If your wheel's bolt pattern doesn't match your car's hub, the wheel will not bolt on. Full stop. Always confirm your bolt pattern before ordering. Use our Bolt Pattern Converter to look up any pattern and find compatible vehicles.
What About Wheel Adapters?
Wheel adapters let you run a wheel with a different bolt pattern on your car. For example, 5x120 BMW wheels on a 5x114.3 Honda. Adapters work, but they add thickness (changing your offset) and must be quality-made — cheap adapters can fail at speed. Come talk to us at Project JDM before going the adapter route.
